Furthermore, I didn’t travel anywhere in 2023 either. Hopefully, that will change soon, I will resolve a medical issue which has prevented me from travelling. Of course, I’ll continue to write new posts, after I’ve visited new places. Regardless of all this, the web site continues to attract views and visitors, more than ever before.
There hasn’t been any significant change in popularity of posts that I published. In other words, the most popular post continue to be so.
TOP TEN POSTS OF 2023
The top 10 posts in 2023 are exactly the same as the year before, with some interesting changes in the ranking. I dare to say that these posts continue to attract visitors simply because they are timeless. Often, bloggers write about their experiences that very quickly become obsolete.
10. SERBIAN 19th CENTURY PAINTING IN MATICA SRPSKA GALLERY – NOVI SAD
This post was also in the 10th position in 2022. Unsurprisingly, it continues to be among the most popular ones. You can see some spectacular paintings in this museum in Novi Sad.
9. IS SERBIAN FOOD HEALTHY?
This post appeared in the Top Ten list for the first time last year, also in the 9th place. It seems, people like to read about Serbian food.
8. SULTANATE OF WOMEN
My favourite post finished in the 8th place in 2023. It was in the 5th place in 2022 and in the 3rd place both in 2020 and 2021. It talks about monuments dedicated to the most powerful women of the Ottoman empire, that you can see all over Istanbul.
7. ATATÜRK MUSEUM – ANKARA
This post about the father of the modern Turkish republic remains among the most popular ones. It was number 7 in 2022 and number 6 in 2021.
6. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – INTERNATIONAL COLLECTION
This post is continuously in the Top Ten list, it’s also one of the most popular posts of all times. Perhaps, not many people have an opportunity or are willing to travel to Belgrade while, at the same time, they want to see what Belgrade’s National Museum has to offer.
5. HAREM
This post about the Harem in the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul was in the 4th place for 3 years, this time it ended the year in the 5th place.
4. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – IMPRESSIONISTS
Number 10 in 2021, number 8 in 2022 and number 4 in 2023, this post about the Impressionists paintings that you can see in the National Museum in Belgrade continuously attracts many views and visitors. For the first time, it also appears in the Top Ten list of the most popular posts of all times.
3. IS TURKISH FOOD HEALTHY?
This post that debates whether Turkish food is healthy or not is one of My Forever Travel’s giants. It was in the 2nd place in 2020, 2021 and 2022, this year it slightly dropped to the still excellent 3rd place.
2. CRYPT OF SAINT SAVA CHURCH – BELGRADE
This post about the crypt in the now finished Saint Sava church in Belgrade moved from the 3rd place in 2022 to the 2nd place in 2023.
1. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – SERBIAN 19th CENTURY PAINTING
The most popular post in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 is also the most popular post of all times. An absolute star, it’s visited by many people every day. Every travel blog should have a post like this one that deservedly attracts many visitors on a daily basis.
TOP TEN POSTS OF ALL TIMES
When it comes to the Top Ten posts of all times, the Impressionists in the National Museum in Belgrade replaced Serbian Medieval Art, that you can also see in the same museum.
Other changes are that Harem and Crypt of Saint Sava Church swapped places, the same as Ataturk Museum and Yugoslav 20th Century Art (part 2).
Two posts on Yugoslav 20th Century art are still among the most popular ones, they still attract a lot of views but, as you have seen, not enough to be among the Top Ten in 2023. Maybe in 2024, we will see!
