However, “Jetpack”, a plugin that I use for statistics, stopped working several days before the end of the last year. Basically, what happened was that they had updated it with the latest version which was not compatible with the WordPress version that I use. But although the issue was quickly resolved, I lost statistics for 1 day last week, plus I only have access to the most basic data right now.
This means that, once I have regained access to the more detailed information, I will update this post to show percentage changes compared with the last year, the number of visitors and the Top Ten countries per number of views.
TOP TEN POSTS OF 2020
The list of the Top Ten posts of 2020 looks rather different compared with 2019. Five posts that were in the list last year have been replaced by five other posts.
There was also some shuffle in the list. Most noticeably, newly featured posts occupy the highest positions. I have to say that it was really very interesting to watch the performance throughout the year. Some posts took me by surprise, I didn’t think that they were going to be so popular. Some other posts that I expected to do well didn’t make it into the Top Ten list, although they also performed well.
One such post is “Mevlana Museum – Konya”, which ended up in the 11th position in 2020.
So, let’s have a look at the new list!
10. ATATÜRK MUSEUM – ANKARA
This is a post that took me by surprise, although it shouldn’t have. It’s about the Ataturk Museum in Ankara that I visited in 2019. Although it’s a huge museum, I wrote only about its section with paintings dedicated to the Father of the modern Turkish nation. It regularly gets new views, so I think that it will continue to perform well in the future. Personally, I am not aware of any other website where you can see these paintings.
9. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – YUGOSLAV 20th CENTURY ART (PART 1)
This post was in the Top Ten list in 2019, but in the 7th position. It continued to perform well and it maintained its position within the most popular posts of 2020, although this time in the 9th position. I think that it will continue to do well in the future.
8. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – SERBIAN MEDIEVAL ART
This post was also in the Top Ten list in 2019, but in the 3rd position. In 2020, it dropped to the still very good 8th position. It continued to get a lot of views, although at a slightly slower pace. We will see how it will perform in the future. I say this because there are some newer posts in My Forever Travel that keep getting a lot of views, so I believe that there will be interesting changes in the future list.
7. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – YUGOSLAV 20th CENTURY ART (PART 2)
There was never any doubt that this post wouldn’t do well. It was a runner up in 2019, in the 11th position. I knew that it would get a lot of views, the same as the other post in which I wrote about the Yugoslav 20th Century Art, that I’ve already mentioned in the 9th position. I think that this is also a post that will continue to do well in the future.
6. CRYPT OF SAINT SAVA CHURCH – BELGRADE
This post about the crypt of a magnificent Saint Sava Church in Belgrade firmly maintains its position in the Top Ten list. It was in the 4th position in 2019 and in 2020, although in a slightly lower 6th place, it remained widely popular. I have to mention that the church will also be finished soon.
5. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – INTERNATIONAL COLLECTION
Some major changes in the Top Ten list start with this post. Despite the fact that it dropped from the 2nd position in 2019 to the current 5th position in 2020, it remains a hugely popular posts with a lot of regular views. Also, as you will see later, it firmly maintains its very high 2nd position in the Top Ten list of all times.
4. HAREM
A post in which I talk about the Harem in the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul and which I published at the end of September 2019 is in the high 4th place in 2020. In this article, I take you on a tour of the Harem exactly as you would see it when you visited it. So, I am not very surprised that this post became so popular, after all perhaps the Harem is the most spectacular part of the former Ottoman Imperial Palace.
3. SULTANATE OF WOMEN
I have to say that this is my favourite post. While you can certainly find many different articles on this topic on the internet, I believe that this is the only place where you can see historic sites related to each woman that I mention in this post. Interestingly, it held the 2nd position in the Top Ten list until very recently, when it was overtaken by the post that ended up in the 2nd place.
2. IS TURKISH FOOD HEALTHY?
I never really expected this post to do so well. I published it in mid-February 2020, but it started to get a lot of view as of May/June. But, I shouldn’t be surprised, it’s a good and interesting post in which I talk about my views and experiences with Turkish food.
1. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – SERBIAN 19th CENTURY PAINTING
This post is the absolute star of My Forever Travel. It was number 1 last year and again this year. Also, it was number 1 of all times last year and this year too. It gets many views on a regular basis and I think that it may remain the most popular post for a very long time.
TOP TEN POSTS OF ALL TIMES
The list of the Top Ten posts of All Times is almost identical with the list of the Top Ten posts of 2020.
But, a post in the 10th position in this list is “Supplements for Healthy Life and Strong Immune System”.
I am very glad that this post is popular and I hope that it will continue to be successful in the future. It was in the 9th position in the Top Ten list of 2019 and although it’s not in the Top Ten list of 2020, it features among the most popular posts of all times.
Otherwise, six posts that were in this list at the end of 2019 have been replaced with six other posts.
So, let’s have a look at the most popular posts on My Forever Travel at the end of 2020:
10. SUPPLEMENTS FOR HEALTHY LIFE AND STRONG IMMUNE SYSTEM
9. NATIONAL MUSEUM BELGRADE – YUGOSLAV 20th CENTURY ART (PART 2)

TOP TEN COUNTRIES PER NUMBER OF VIEWS
As I now have access to all statistics, I want to finish this post properly. My website grew considerably in 2020. There was an increase of 217% in the number of visitors compared with 2019.
But, I have to be honest and say that, while this increase represents a very nice organic growth, the overall number of visitors to My Forever Travel is still far from what some other very popular travel blogs experience .
Anyway, we will see the future progress, especially as I am going to continue publishing new posts that will hopefully attract new visitors. I am also planning some other changes to the website, to improve its visibility on the internet.
In terms of the number of views, the Top Ten countries at the end of 2020 are:
- UNITED STATES
- UNITED KINGDOM
- SERBIA
- TURKEY
- ITALY
- AUSTRALIA
- CANADA
- GERMANY
- INDIA
- SPAIN/NETHERLANDS
There were visitors from approximately 140 countries and territories, among which American Samoa, Rwanda, Greenland, Curacao and Palestine.
So, at this point I look forward to seeing what 2021 will bring!
